"Beast in a Cage" Original Oil Painting

The aim of this painting was to create a "taxidermy" or "entomology" piece that looks so real it looks like there's a massive butterfly on the wall! Especially considering that the painting is done of a 40x40cm wooden board. The size and idea of this appealed to my inner child that wondered what life would be like in a little doll house, and what it would be like to see massive bugs flying around in the backyard.
